A Family Portrait For July

I came across this lovely idea this morning – a monthly family portrait project from Dear Beautiful – and just happened to have a pretty decent photo to hand.

This is me and my boys on our first family holiday to the New Forest. We had a fantastic time, despite some of the stresses involved with holidaying with a toddler and a small baby. It was made considerably easier by booking in with the fantastic Hideaway Cottage.

It  had everything we needed from a playmat, bouncy chair and Cosy Coupe to a steriliser, baby monitor and toddler bed. It really was a home from home and made packing to go away so much easier. Leaving to come back without any of the toys was a different matter….

Soon as i have just started up and missed out on previous months i thought i would also add our first ever family portrait! This was taken in hospital on day 2 of Seth’s life. Felix and he had just met and lets just say he was none too impressed with his new little bro :)

Ahhh, this is lovely. Welcome to the project!!!
I love your photo from this month, and that holiday sounds perfect. Holidaying with a baby and a toddler is definitely a challenge, we went to the New Forest too earlier this month and getting everything in the car was like a very complicated game of Tetris.

Ah the New Forest is lovely isn’t it! Packing up is definitely the worst part though. Thanks for your comment, all of your photo’s are really lovely – and the project is such a good incentive to keep taking the family snaps! x

Gorgeous photos both of them and welcome to me and mine, it’s fun taking a different photo each month. Your holiday sounds great, so handy having everything there ready for you. Even a baby monitor! Leaves more space in the car for wine. ;) x

Lovely photos and so great you had such a good getaway. We did our first ‘abroad’ holiday 3 years ago when my daughter was about 13-14 months and we got an amazing child friendly place in Lanzarote – it had everything! I’m off to look at the link now x

That cottage sounds amazing – you all look so happy and relaxed it must have been hard to tear yourself away but at least you have a lovely photo to remember it by.
