The Ordinary Moments – Carpet Beds

My ordinary moment this week is a very common occurrence right now and the result of a 6 month old who has just dropped his 3rd nap. Baby S currently has a nap around 9 and then another one around 12.30 ish and then sweet F A until bed time. This means he does up to 5 hours awake and just can’t stay awake a minute longer after he has had his bath and milk.

My older son dropped naps altogether just before he turned 2 (I seem to breed nap fighters!) so the time after tea and before bed (5-6.30) is ummm fun?! Despite the challenges of dealing with a hyperactive 3 year old and a very overtired baby i love that he zonks out like this. It’s just impossible to wake him and you can steal some proper lovely cuddles :)

Awww I love that zonking out anywhere stage- Mads used to do it all the time. LL doesn’t as much, but I don’t know if that is because she is in more of a nap routine than Mads was, because our naps are determined around Mads as she still naps for 3 hours in the afternoon. (Don’t hate me it could change at anytime! ;) ) So LL has a short cat nap in the morning and then about a 2 hour one in the afternoon. As such we don’t really get the falling asleep in funny positions- although we have some classic ones of Mads, in her jumperoo, on the stairs, in her highchair and on the bathroom floor! x

Aww lovely. Baby A used to sleep on me all the time and then it had been ages until this week, we took him swimming with some older children and it was all too much – after his bottle, he feel asleep on Daddy… I could see his eyes getting heavier and heavier!

So cute. Something really lovely about photos of your babies sleeping. I still like watching Arlo sleep (in a totally non-creepy way, of course! haha). I have nap fighters too – Arlo dropped his nap at 2 and Rory has decided he only likes 10 minute disco naps.

Mine have never fallen asleep in silly places and I am gutted as they make the cutest photos! My 2 year old loves his bed and asks for a nap when he gets tired (he still has around 3 hours per day) and the 6 month old will only fall asleep on the boob! x

Funny how they are all different isn’t it! Great that your 2 year old still naps for 3 hours, I’m so jealous! My son gave up completely just before his 2nd birthday :(
