A pair of scissors, a few blinked back tears (mine) and 10 minutes later – I have a proper grown up boy!
And yes he may be eating a happy meal in the first photo. Judge me not, it was one of those days.
This post is linked up with to Mummy, Daddy, Me for the Ordinary Moments. Sharing normal, everyday moments that capture the essence of family life. Nothing special, nothing remarkable but memories that you don’t want to forget. AKA the nice part of my blog (usually).

P.S. I have a new book OUT NOW! You can nab it on Amazon here or in your lovely local bookshop :)
Oh look at him!!! He looks so adorable and so grown up! I dreaded the first haircut too! xxx
Ah thank you! x
I really wanted a happy meal today lol. He looks very smart indeed, bless him xo
mmmm happy meals are good! thanks x
Oh he’s gorgeous! He looks so smart. Beautiful hair.
TY! xx
Ahhhh he looks lovely. The first hair cut is such a big deal, Cherry only had hers a few weeks ago. I think it’s worse with boys though as with girls you can still keep it quite long and it doesn’t looks that different. I’m dreading J’s, I really like this though, having it too short scares me a bit! X
Yep i had to keep a bit of length! It does looks loads better though :)
It’s amazing how a haircut turns them from toddlers into little boys isn’t it? He looks so grown up and handsome :) #TheOrdinaryMoments
Ahh thank you and yes it has made a big difference! x
Oh my gosh- the difference is amazing. And that first haircut is so special, sniff. xx
I know crazy isn’t it! x
He looks gorgeous Katie, such a handsome little man.
And what’s wrong with a happy meal?? Although my boy is more of a pie fan (he does have Wigan roots, so I blame it on that!)
Ah he sounds right up my street as i love pie!! :)
Great job! Second career! My youngest has curls to his shoulders but I can’t bear to snip them just yet (he’s only 16 months – but has hair like Beyonce!).
Ahhh it sounds lovely :)) I love boys with curly hair!
Aw how smart does he look? Very dapper indeed. ;) And would you believe that Mads doesn’t like Mcdonalds? I would be the first to be in there if she did. Strange child.
She sounds strange Katie ;)) thanks x
He looks so grown up! Lovely hair cut :) x
Thanks Donna x
oh my gosh the difference is huge!!! a transformation into such a smart little boy!!!!
Very smart :)
Aww x proper little man now :) xx
Oh I remember Bubas first haircut we both cried, hard. Hahaha he looks so grown up in his photo. Happy meals sometimes are needed. Hahaha
He looks great! Can we have some haircutting tips please? M’s hair is poker-straight and threatening to get in his eyes so I have to do something about it. Even better would be tips about how to get them to sit still through said haircutting.
Very handsome! And definitely no judging from me on the happy meal after the junk we all found ourself eating this weekend.
Aw gorgeous boy and not too short-I love long hair on boys, we call it American style hair here. Eldest really doesn’t even want a trim!
He looks great! So grown up, amazing what difference a haircut makes x
Oh bless, he looks so grown up now! x
